Tata Neu, in partnership with HDFC Bank, has launched two co-branded credit cards: Tata Neu Plus and Tata Neu Infinity.
The headline benefit of these cards is the additional 5% NeuCoins on Tata brand spends, but there is far more value hidden beneath the surface.
This article focuses specifically on the Tata Neu credit cards. To understand how to truly maximise value across the entire Tata Neu ecosystem, you can read the 👉 detailed guide as well.
Dealmaker or Dealbreaker
If you regularly purchase from Tata brands and don’t want to put too much effort in optimising multiple credit cards, this card works extremely well. It offers 7% NeuCoins with the Tata Neu Plus and 10% NeuCoins with the Tata Neu Infinity on Tata brand spends.
And if you’re someone who is willing to put in the effort to optimise your credit card strategy, this card can help you unlock the highest tier in your neupass membership.
For a detailed overview of Tata Neu tiers and how they work, please refer to the 👉 main article. This is a supplementary article to highlight the additional benefits you can extract from Neu Card.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the Tata Neu Plus variant, as it is significantly inferior to the Tata Neu Infinity in terms of rewards and overall value.
If you are eligible for the Infinity variant, that should be your first choice. If not, you can start with the Plus variant and later request an upgrade by emailing HDFC Bank credit card support, once your eligibility improves. If you already hold any HDFC Bank credit card with a credit limit of ₹1.5 lakh or more, you are generally eligible for the Tata Neu Infinity variant.
Since the main hero here is the Tata Neu Infinity, I’ll focus exclusively on the Infinity variant from this point onward. However, the reward structure of the Plus variant is also included in the first table for reference.
Additional Benefits
1.5 % on UPI spends
Yes, you read that right. You can actually earn rewards on UPI payments. Just Make sure that you get the Neu Card in Rupay Variant only.
If your merchant does not accept credit cards, this becomes a no-brainer way to earn rewards on everyday spends. With the Tata Neu Infinity, you earn 1.5% NeuCoins on UPI spends made through the Tata Neu app, which is among the best-in-class UPI reward rates in India.
However, when you make UPI payments through other apps like PhonePe, Paytm, the card earns only 0.5% NeuCoins. So, you will have to use the Tata Neu app for your UPI transactions to maximise rewards.
5% on Bill Payments
You probably wouldn’t believe if I tell you that you can earn 5% back on paying your electricity, gas, insurance, and other utility bills. But that’s exactly what the Tata Neu Infinity offers: 5% NeuCoins on bill payments made through the Tata Neu app.
Lounge Access
The card offers 8 domestic lounge visits and 4 international lounge visits per year. However, to avail domestic lounge access, you must spend ₹50,000 in the previous quarter, which makes this benefit less reliable for many users.
Personally, I don’t consider the Tata Neu Infinity a strong card for lounge access. There are clearly better alternatives. For example, the HDFC Marriott Bonvoy, or Scapia, which offers unlimited lounge access with just ₹10,000 spend in the previous month. That threshold is far easier to plan for and manage consistently.

Final Verdict
This is genuinely a card that covers almost everything most people need. It’s a jack of all trades with a solid reward structure, and if you have significant spends across Tata brands, you should get it without a second thought.
The Tata Neu Infinity is generally offered first year free (FYF), meaning there’s no joining fee. From the second year onward, the annual fee applies if you don’t meet the ₹3 lakh annual spend waiver condition.
Even then, the card compensates you with NeuCoins equal to the annual fee, effectively offsetting it. What you truly end up paying is just the GST on the annual fee, roughly ₹270 (18% of ₹1,499) for the Infinity variant.
Considering the amount of value you can extract for an effective cost of just ₹270, this card is undeniably a worthy addition to your wallet.
